Had a chance to visit New York for the first time this past weekend. Previously to the trip I did a quick sketch that kept me a little obsessed with the flow of fire line work. Because of the trip I had some extra time to do some much needed sketchbook time.

I really like how you created the fire out of negative space in the bottom image. I would love to see it as a fully rendered piece!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nicci. In the past I had not done a lot of work using negative space. So working on these pieces was fun for me cause it was a bit different from what I'm used to. I like the flames, but haven't yet figured out how I'd like to portrait them on a color piece. peace! :)
